What We Do

Claire and I (Lindsay) started Snowdrops out of our ‘theraputic runs’.  She wanted to run a 5k and I’d had my rainbow baby (pregnancy after a loss) and wanted to get out of the house, so we decided to meet up and go for a run – although coffee would have been kinder!

However, out of this run and the next and the next came a firm friendship.  We found out that we were both bereaved parents and knew how hard it was long term with relationships, work and other children.  Our plods and chats around the streets became our therapy sessions.  Over time we relied on these and found a huge improvement in our mental wellbeing.  We set ourselves a goal of running an official race – something in memory of our babies and enjoyed the training time as a chance to chat about them and anything else going on at the time.

We thought we would open up our runs and invite anyone who is also effected by baby loss to join us.  We are not fast – we will happily walk or jog with you.  It’s about togetherness, not times – although if you want to speed off we will meet you for coffee in the café afterwards.

We meet on the last Saturday of every month at Billericay Parkrun.  We will be wearing the Snowdrops Run Club running shirts so find us at 8;30 by the café or at 8;45 at the briefing.  You will need to register with Parkrun to get a barcode, and for insurance purposes, this is free and can be done by clicking this button:

Who to look out for….

After we finish we will meet in the café for anyone who would like to join us.
